Wykeham was a place in Lyra's world. Hannah Relf and George Papadimitriou would meet at the next Evensong here if Hannah put up the word 'candle' on the noticeboard outside the History Faculty Library. They would speak quietly under the music.[1] There was a Wykeham College (presumably where Hannah and George would meet) in the University of Oxford.[2]
