The Uppsala alethiometer was one of only six alethiometers made. It was kept at the University of Uppsala and its use was demonstrated to Coram van Texel by Gunnar Hallgrimsson.[1]
Physical appearance[]
The Uppsala alethiometer was kept in a circular leather box. It was bright gold with a crystal upper face. The thirty-six symbols were painted on ivory with a single hair and the three wheels to control each of the slender black hands were evenly spaced around the circumference. The needle that gave the readings was very slender and mid-grey. [1]
