This unidentified tabby cat discovered a window from Will's world to the world of Cittàgazze in Summertown. She went through this window, which led to Will Parry discovering the window as well. Later on, the cat was unable to find her way back to its own world, and was being terrorised by several children. Will rescued the tabby and tended to her wounds in a local café.
A day or so later, fully recovered, the cat followed Lyra Silvertongue and Will on their journey to retrieve the alethiometer from Charles Latrom. During this time, the tabby cat was able to return to Will's world and got into a fight with Marisa Coulter's monkey dæmon, providing Will and Lyra with a distraction so they could return to the world of Cittàgazze unscathed.[1]
