Turki, also known as Turkey, was a country in Lyra's world located in the Ottoman Empire.[1] It was located above the African continent near Arabia and Babylonia. It had a large body of water on its western side which had islands in it.[2] Roses were grown here.[3]
A person from Turki was called a Turk. The Turks spoke a language called Anatolian. The city of Smyrna was located in Turki. The ruler of Turki was called a Sultan. Lyra Silvertongue told some gyptian children she met in the Fens that the Sultan told the Turkish Ambassador to go to Jordan College and poison Lord Asriel.[4]
