The Clouded Mountain is the seventh episode in the third series of the TV series. It was released on 26 December 2022 in the U.S. and was released on 22 January 2023 in the U.K.
Synopsis[]
Will and Lyra makes an effort to search for their demons on the battlefield amidst of the turmoil; Asriel challenges against their greatest foe yet.
Plot[]
Asriel tells Marisa his plan is to force Metatron into the abyss, using his own flesh and blood. The Clouded Mountain approaches and a massive battle between Asriel’s forces and those of the Authority begins. When Spectres threaten the rebellion’s soldiers, Marisa uses her immense power to banish them.
Searching for their dæmons, Will and Lyra witness the fighting. Ogunwe and Serafina see to it that the children and dæmons are kept safe and on the path to meeting.
Metatron attempts to turn the rebellion against itself, manipulating the soldiers as a voice in their heads. Marisa enters the Clouded Mountain and meets him; Metatron asks her to join him. Asriel uses the intention craft to fly to join them and is forced to fight himself as Metatron toys with him. Marisa feigns loyalty to Metatron and distain for Asriel. He declares his love for her and the golden monkey, back at Asriel’s fortress, activates capacitors to destabilise the Clouded Mountain.
Asriel, Marisa and Stelmaria wrestle Metatron into the abyss, damning themselves to an eternity of falling. Lyra arrives to watch her mother’s dæmon disappear. Asriel’s troops celebrate their victory. Lyra and Will discover the Authority, cowering inside a glowing block. He quickly disintegrates into Dust. Lyra and Will leave to reunite with their dæmons.
