Svalbard was an archipelago in the North of Lyra's world. It was inhabited by panserbjørne, Arctic foxes, narwhals and cliff-ghasts. Svalbard was located to the north of Sveden.[1] The city of Longyearbyen was situated there.[2]
History[]
Both Lord Asriel and Jotham Santelia were imprisoned in Svalbard by Iofur Raknison.[3] Iofur built both a large palace on Svalbard that was designed to look like human-like as well as a prison where Asriel was kept.
