The Steward was a superior servant at Jordan College. Among his duties were supervising the waiting at the high table in the Hall, and ensuring that the Master's poppy and wine were ready for after dinner in the Retiring Room. He was responsible for college ceremonies, including the Founder's Feast, the college silverware and the management of the Retiring Room.[1]
