Sister Benedicta was one of the nuns at the Godstow Priory in Oxford. She used to correct Malcolm Polstead's grammar as a game and was taken multiple times by him in his canoe down the River Thames to the Royal Mail Zeppelin Station where she would send the Bishop of London parcels of stokes, copes or chasubles. Malcolm thought that she could make these parcels look very neat.[1]

She was an important nun in the priory and was the one who spoke to Lord Asriel regarding the keeping of his daughter, Lyra Belacqua.[2]
