Serpents' are evil and guile reptiles that are deadly and poison in the parallel world. It is also said that Humans had serpents as their daemons since regular ones that travel around are not and never connect to them at all. A symbol of a serpent was seen in the alethiometer which meant evil, guile, and natural wisdom.
