Robert Luckhurst was a historian at Magdalen College. His dæmon had the form of a cat. Luckhurst was an insulator for Oakley Street, he would place the acorn for Hannah Relf to collect and take it away when she returned it. When he was discovered by the Consistorial Court of Discipline, he was murdered for heresy.
Robert had one brother, and his mother was a widow. He never married.
One day, while visiting a drop point he lost the acorn in which messages were hidden. He left towards a bridge, where he was accosted by two members of the Consistorial Court of Discipline and dragged away. Some days later, his death was reported in the Oxford Times as an accident: he allegedly slipped and fell into the river, where he drowned.
