This pharmacy was in Oxford. It had a green cross painted on it to signify that it was a pharmacy. It sold items such as medicine, biscuits and juice, as well as those needed for babycare. It had two floors, the second of which had a storeroom, bathroom, kitchen and another which was empty.[1]

History[edit | edit source]

During the flood of 1986, Malcolm Polstead, Alice Parslow and Lyra Belacqua visited this pharmacy to get supplies. The lower floor was completely flooded.

It was from the window in the upper floor that Malcolm saw the devastation the flood had caused. Malcolm saw a floating, dead woman in the middle of the street and saw another calling for help from her house.[1]
