"Old Father Thames, I seen him a few times, with his crown and his weeds and his trident. He's on our side. The bloody CCD, they won't never win against Old Father Thames."
George Boatwright talking to Malcolm Polstead about runaways[src]

Old Father Thames was an old god of the River Thames and would help runaways flee along the river.[1] Old Father Thames gave instructions to the River Giant never to open the gates he was guarding unless given orders to.[2]
