The Nuniatak dig was a 1985 expedition funded by the Institute of Archaeology with the objective of finding ancient human settlements in Alaska.[1]

Six weeks after their departure from Oxford, the expedition party, which included John Parry, reached the North American Arctic Survey Station at Noatak in Alaska. Two months following this, the party was reported missing since there had been no reply to signals sent to the Survey Station.[1]

The Nuniatak dig was a preliminary survey of the region believed to contain evidence of human settlement. A total of six men partook in the expedition, including a physicist and John Parry. Instruments and technology such as radio transmitters and balloons were used on the dig.[1]
