- "It would be a good idea to remember that the only legitimate agency of the law here on Novy Odense is the Office of Customs and Revenue. There is no police force."
- —Customs officer[src]
The Novy Odense Provincial Customs and Revenue Authority was the law enforcement agency on the island of Novy Odense. The headquarters of the authority was a stone building with a navy blue and white flag flying from the roof known as the Customs House. As there were no police on the island, the office dealt with individuals who transgressed the law. Lee Scoresby, when arriving on the island, had to let a Customs officer quickly look through his belongings.[1] The Commissioner of Customs was K. Hagström.[2]
