The multiverse was the set of multiple parallel universes that together comprised all of reality. In Lyra's world, the idea that there were multiple universes was first posited by the theologians Barnard and Stokes, who were silenced by the Magisterium.[1]
There were several known worlds in the multiverse:
- Lyra's world
- Will's world
- The world of Cittàgazze
- The world of the dead
- The Gallivespian world
- The Mulefa world
- The Republic of Heaven
