Mrs Simkin was a woman staying in the cave encampment with George and Audrey Boatwright. She had worked as a cleaner and domestic servant for the Sisters of Holy Obedience at Wallingford Priory. She was able to give Malcolm Polstead and Alice Parslow information about the Priory when the baby Lyra Belacqua was kidnapped by the Office of Child Protection. Her dæmon was a ferret or a mouse.[1]

Behind the scenesEdit

  • In La Belle Sauvage, there appears to have been a mistake on what form Mrs Simkin's dæmon took. It was initially written that her dæmon was a ferret, but later in the same chapter, it references her dæmon as a mouse.
