Miss Carmichael was a member of the League of St Alexander. She visited Lyra Belacqua as an infant in the Godstow Priory and told off Malcolm Polstead for visiting her. Sister Fenella thought she came from Child Services.[2] Soon after, she paid a visit to Ulvercote Elementary School and told the story of St Alexander. She urged the children to sign up for the League with this story.[3]
