Mehrzad Karimov

Mehrzad Karimov was a Tajik^[1] man from Lyra's world who went to Akchi to get some rose oil for Marcel Delamare.^[2] After not being paid by Marcel, he went to Malcolm Polstead at the Hotel Rembrandt^[1] and escaped out of Geneva on the boat Mignonne.^[3] His dæmon had the form of a snake of sandy-grey colour with red diamonds on her sides.^[2]

He knew several long passages of Jahan and Rukhsana by heart and shared his knowledge of the poem with both Malcolm and Delamare.^[4]
