Kerim Costa belonged to the Costa family of the Oxford Gyptians. When Lyra Belacqua was attacked by Turk traders on the streets near London, Kerim, Tony and Jaxer Costa helped free her.[1] When Lyra arrived at the Fens with the Costas, Kerim and Tony went to meet some of their old friends.[2]
