The Jordan catacombs were located underneath the Jordan Oratory. Lyra Belacqua and Roger Parslow explored these catacombs during their youth. The former Masters of Jordan College were buried in coffins here, as well as the former college Scholars' skulls. A coin with the name of their dæmon written on it was often placed in the skull of dead Scholars. Once, Lyra was visited by three night-ghasts after swapping the coins in the skulls.[1]
