Janet was the secretary of Raymond Stringer, the Bursar of Jordan College. Her dæmon was a squirrel named Axel.[1]
Biography[]
While Janet was working for Mr Stringer, the Master of Jordan College Werner Hammond used the Bursar's office because his own was being redecorated. When Alice Lonsdale met with the Master, Captain Manton and Sergeant Topham of the Consistorial Court of Discipline. During the meeting, Janet brought the four tea, and witnessed the arrest of Alice for attacking Topham.[1]
Later that day, Janet rode her bicycle to The Trout Inn, which she often frequented. She told Brenda Polstead about Alice's arrest and the pair rode to Jericho to visit Hannah Relf. Upon arriving at Hannah's house, Janet and Brenda found themselves in a confrontation with Manton and Topham who were also there. Janet helped Brenda and Hannah force the officers to leave, who threatened her on their way out.[1]
The next day, Mr Stringer dismissed Janet from her secretarial position upon direction from Dr Hammond.[1]
