Doris Whicher was a woman from Wallingford who lived in the encampment with George Boatwright during the flood of 1986. She had a nephew whose name was Andrew Whicher.[1]

When her nephew went missing, the morning after Malcolm Polstead, Alice Parslow and Lyra Belacqua came into the cave, Doris woke up, smelling of alcohol and asked Malcolm where Andrew was. She guessed it had something to do with the League of St Alexander, cursing the organisation.[1]

When Andrew came back with the men from the Office of Child Protection at Wallingford Priory, she stopped Malcolm from beating Andrew up completely but later hit him when he wouldn't stop crying.[2]
