The College of Izmir was possibly a college in Turki. Lyra Silvertongue told some gyptian children she met in the Fens that the Turkish Ambassador had come to Jordan College to poison Lord Asriel. However, the man ended up dying after Asriel, having seen the man put poison in his wine, said to switch glasses as a symbol of friendship between the two colleges.[1]
