The Clouded Mountain, also known as the Chariot, was the fortress of the Authority. It was the heart of his kingdom and could move from place to place. As the Authority grew older, he gathered more and more clouds around it and so no one had seen its summit for thousands of years. The Authority dwelled in a chamber at the heart of the palace.[1]
