Brasil was a country in the world of Cittàgazze equivalent to High Brasil in Lyra's world and Brazil in Will's world. Joachim Lorenz mentioned to the witch Serafina Pekkala that ambassadors from Brasil mingled with tobacco sellers, commedia players from Bergamo and with dealers in fortune bonds in the courts and squares of the cities in the world of Cittàgazze.[1]
