This cave was on a piece of land that was the highest in Berkshire. During the flood of 1986, a group of at least 6 refugees lived in the cave, including George and Audrey Boatwright, and their son and his family. The cave was also visited by Alice Parslow, Malcolm Polstead and Lyra Belacqua when they were fleeing from Gerard Bonneville. In the cave there were wooden boxes that people sat on, a fire, some blankets and boxes of other goods.[1]
