The Belvedere tower was located in the world of Cittàgazze, near a white villa and a wood in the city of Cittàgazze, and had a belvedere. The entrance was under a portico and the inside was barren except for a spiral staircase in the center that led up to the viewing platform. The belvedere itself had no walls or windows, but instead it had arches that supported the roof.[1]'
History
When Lyra Silvertongue and Will Parry were staying in this world, they ran to this tower to escape a group of forty of fifty children who were going to kill them. After climbing to the viewing platform, Will cut the stairs leading upwards with the subtle knife and stopped the children from climbing onto the roof of the structure by jabbing at them with bars he cut from the rails. They were soon rescued by the witch Serafina Pekkala's dæmon, Kaisa, who scared the children away.[1]
