Alice Parslow was a girl who worked at The Trout Inn near Oxford. During the flood of 1986, when Alice was 15[2], she and Malcolm Polstead rescued Lyra and took her to Lord Asriel in London aboard La Belle Sauvage. She was from the Parslow family. Many members of this family worked as servants at Jordan College.
