Alan Perkins was John Parry's lawyer. He sent money into Elaine Parry's bank account every three months on John's behalf.
When Will returned to Oxford with Lyra Silvertongue after a night in Cittàgazze, he went to a phone box and called Mr Perkins who talked to him about his father. Alan couldn't give any details about what had happened to his father unless Will went to his office. Will made the excuse that he was going to Nottingham to avoid having to go.[1]
